Touching Triton
This Web-based activity builds understanding of common complex disease risk, influenced by factors from family history, environment and genomic data. Students synthesize data from these sources to inform lifestyle choices and medical intervention strategies in the setting of a long-duration space flight mission.

Touching Triton’s features offer flexibility for the classroom:

- Use on iPads, Android tablets or desktop/laptop computers
- Designed to fit within 90 minutes
- An educator portal with real-time monitoring of the activity allows teachers to see what students are doing and give immediate feedback on their progress
HudsonAlpha is offering free, one-day training sessions on using Touching Triton in the classroom:
- February 25, 2015 – Auburn, Alabama
- Fall 2015 – Dothan, Alabama (Date TBD)
- Winter 2016 – Huntsville, Alabama (Date TBD)
- Spring 2016 – Mobile, Alabama (Date TBD)
To be eligible to attend, a teacher must be currently teaching grades 9-16 in one or more of the following courses:
- Anatomy and Physiology
- AP Biology
- General Biology
- Biotech
- Genetics
- Honors Biology
- IB Biology
- PLTW Biomedical Science
Teachers attending training will receive:
- Hands-on experience with the activity, implementation strategies and content enrichment
- Substitute reimbursement
