Retired Lt. Gen. Joseph M. Cosumano named incoming CFDRC president

Huntsville, Ala. – Joseph M. Cosumano joins CFD Research Corporation (CFDRC) as president, effective Feb. 1, 2013. Cosumano’s military and civilian experience in key modernization efforts make him a perfect fit to lead CFDRC as it continues to make significant discoveries and applications. 
 
Cosumano has always been at the forefront of efforts to ensure U.S. services are equipped to meet the challenges of the 21st century throughout his 35-year career. He led the U.S. Army’s first Quadrennial Defense Review, initiated the Joint Program Office NMD/GMD, was the U.S. Army’s force modernizer, stood up the Future Combat Systems/Objective Force Office and culminated his service as the commanding general U.S. Space and Missile Defense Command during 9/11 and early stages of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. 
 
Cosumano’s civilian career has ranged from senior vice president at ATK Thiokol, to senior vice president at KBR and lastly president and chief executive officer of Agility Defense and Government Services. In each assignment, he grew the company and provided excellent value to the customer.
