Research matters.

HudsonAlpha’s world-class scientists conduct genomic research, seeking the answers to the mysteries of disease in billions of base pairs of DNA. By using next-generation technologies, HudsonAlpha scientists are working toward improved diagnostics and development of personalized treatments and therapies, ultimately blazing a path toward prevention.

Current research areas include :

  • Cancer (brain, breast, lung, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate)
  • Psychiatric disorders (major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia)
  • Neurological disease (ALS, Parkinson, Alzheimer)
  • Diabetes
  • Cardiovascular disease

"ALS has no cure. Unlike other major diseases such as cancer, there is no treatment. It it very wonderful to have HudsonAlpha doing research here and I am grateful to Jim Hudson and others for their roles in making this biotech institute possible."
David McKannan
