Registration opens for Summer Short Course

The Summer Short Course, a new three-week course in July for high school students, will explore the science behind synthetic biology, one of the newest fields in the world of science.

Best described as the intersection of engineering and biology, synthetic biology has a promising future focused on solving some of the world’s biggest challenges in health, energy and agriculture.

This intensive program will allow students learn techniques that support synthetic biology, including DNA extraction, restriction enzyme digest and analysis, bacterial transformation, PCR Amplification, and bioinformatics.
