Nanopore sequencing subject of HudsonAlpha seminar

Winston Timp, PhD, continued the fall seminar series at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. Timp is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine in Baltimore.

Timp’s lecture focused on developments in nanopore sequencing, including ways to use the technology for exploring the genome, epigenome and transcriptome. Nanopore technology allows for sequencing of a single molecule without the need for PCR amplification.

You can learn more about nanopore sequencing here.

This seminar was hosted by Lindsay Rizzardi, PhD.
