The iCubate automated system – for research use, only – utilizes the proprietary amplicon rescued multiplex PCR technology in a closed cassette. Each cassette is preloaded to perform a multiplex amplification and detection for research samples. (tem-PCR allows multiple targets to be amplified in one reaction.)  iCubate is the first technology-based company to spin out from intellectual property developed in the lab of a HudsonAlpha faculty investigator.  The company recently introduced iCubate 2.0, an open platform for developing and marketing multiplex PCR assays.
