Human Genome Diversity Project

Human Genome Diversity Project

Our genome consists of some of the most indivisible building blocks of life, but once assembled into humanity, those building blocks diversify in incredible ways. The Human Genome Diversity Project collected data on 51 different human populations, from tribes on the scorching African plains to groups in the frozen reaches of Siberia. Through the information gathered, researchers and doctors can understand a much broader scope of human diversity on the genetic level, allowing for a deeper understanding of ancestry, while improving medical care for the whole human family.
