Gregg Tyree, CPIM, CFM, supports all HudsonAlpha mission areas through leading the Operations department. Responsible for the campus and all built environments, Tyree ensures that HudsonAlpha and associate companies are able to function effectively and efficiently while striving to maintain sustainability. The Operations department has approximately 50 employees and is responsible for all property management, leasing, construction, café/vending, Environmental/Health/Safety (EH&S), security, inventory management, and furnishings.
Tyree joined HudsonAlpha as part of the start-up group in 2007. This was his second large start-up, the first being Daikin America in Decatur, Alabama. Prior to HudsonAlpha, Tyree served in various supply chain and operations capacities in diverse local industries including electronics/computer manufacturing, fluoropolymers, and complex manufacturing (aerospace, defense, environmental, nuclear). Tyree has worked to see the Cummings Research Park Biotech Campus expand from one building with 130 employees and 5 associate companies to four buildings on a 152-acre campus with over 800 employees and over 40 associate companies.
Tyree is a board member for the North Alabama Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) serving in various roles. He also serves on the board of directors for the Community Free Clinic of Huntsville. Tyree is also a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) North Alabama. Tyree has also served on the board of directors for the local chapter of American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS).
While working, Tyree earned his BS in business from Athens State University and his MBA from Florida Institute of Technology. Tyree is Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and is also a Certified Facility Manager (CFM). He is married to Traci Tyree, CPA who is the Vice President of Finance at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. They are long-time Madison county residents and have one terrific son.
