First student selected for genetic counseling mini-rotation

Courtney Heckman, a first year genetic counseling student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, has been selected for the first genetic counseling mini-rotation at HudsonAlpha and the Smith Family Clinic for Genomic Medicine. The goal of the mini-rotation is to allow the participating student to observe and participate in the work genetic counselors do as part of the HudsonAlpha team. The selected student will get hands-on experience in a variety of settings including genomic medicine, sequencing and bioinformatics, variant analysis and educational outreach. Heckman will join HudsonAlpha in July 2016.
