The recently appointed Consul General of Switzerland in Atlanta, Peter Zimmerli, visited HudsonAlpha in November. The visit was co-hosted with the North Alabama International Trade Association (NAITA). Visiting with Zimmerli were colleagues Daniel Freihofer Minister-Counselor, Economic and Financial Affairs Division, Embassy of Switzerland, Washington, D.C.; and Trade Commissioner Kimberly Roth Schulman, also from Atlanta. The group was learning about the Huntsville market as part of their role in promoting Swiss exports into the U.S., as well as promoting Switzerland as a place to invest for American companies looking into expansion overseas.
The visit gave HudsonAlpha resident associate companies an opportunity to learn more about the life sciences market in Switzerland and the Consulate an introduction to several bioscience companies on the HudsonAlpha campus
To further the relationship with Switzerland, HudsonAlpha offered to host Swiss life sciences companies seeking to share their capabilities in the region.
