The Birmingham Medical News highlighted HudsonAlpha and UAB Medicine collaborations in its October issue. Faculty Investigator Greg Barsh, PhD and UAB Medicine’s Bruce Korf, MD, PhD, discussed the Alabama Genomic Health Initiative and CSER2.
Barsh, co-director of the AGHI, said “The AGHI could lead to identification of new genetic diseases and treatments. Researchers working on finding cures to conditions like diabetes, heart disease, epilepsy and cancer will be able to utilize knowledge from these data to identify genetic factors that predispose people to these diseases as well as rare disorders.”
