An experiment conducted by HudsonAlpha and collaborators was featured last week on AL.com.
The study revealed why bacteria behave differently in the microgravity environment of space. Results were published online Nov. 2 in PLOS ONE.
What scientists found was that genes associated with starvation were “overexpressed” compared to the same e coli on Earth. And the findings aren’t limited to space, researchers said.
