Annual Tie the Ribbons luncheon to be held October 24

Tie the Ribbons is a unique fundraising and awareness-building event.

Combining pink and teal, the signature colors for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October and Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in September, Tie the Ribbons is designed to support research of both diseases.

The fifth annual Tie the Ribbons luncheon will be held Thursday, October 24, at noon in the Jackson Center. Each year, HudsonAlpha alternates hosting the event in September or October.

The 2013 event will help fund a collaborative study between HudsonAlpha scientists and Huntsville Hospital physicians. North Alabama ovarian cancer patients will be among those providing the study samples.

Breast cancer survivor Susy Thurber and ovarian cancer survivor Debbi Nerstad will share their personal stories related to their respective diseases. Neil Lamb, Ph.D., HudsonAlpha’s vice president for educational outreach, will deliver the keynote address.

HudsonAlpha thanks our sponsors for making Tie the Ribbons possible, including Presenting Sponsor, Intergraph, and Founding Sponsors, the Jackson Center and First Commercial Bank.

Tickets are available for $60 per person or $400 for a table of eight. Tickets may be purchased and donations made in memory or in honor of a loved one. You may call (256) 327-0422 to secure your seat.
