On Thursday, April 22, HudsonAlpha will host a benefit to raise funds for the current and future research being performed on neurological diseases, specifically amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson, and Alzheimer diseases. Each of these conditions impacts families here in North Alabama, and HudsonAlpha is working to improve diagnoses and treatments to benefit both those affected and those at risk.
Currently, HudsonAlpha’s research on these diseases focuses primarily on the genetic components of each, but we know that our genes are not the only factor leading to these disorders. Thus, our scientists are also studying the interaction between environmental factors and our human genome, in both normal and disordered states.
