Description:

iXpressGenes is seeking a motivated student (high school or undergraduate) who wishes to assist in the preparation of thermophilic proteins and crystallization for experiments on the International Space Station. The student will participate in the company’s current investigation on how microgravity affects protein crystal growth and determine its usefulness for neutron diffraction. This is part of the company’s Gene2Structure project working with synthetic genes and their gene products.

Specific Requirements:
  1. Applicants should be currently enrolled in a High School or undergraduate BS degree program and be willing to work 5 days per week, 4 hours per day.
  2. Experience with protein purification and crystallization is desired.
