Many companies support HudsonAlpha’s programs and research. Since our last enewsletter, several companies have helped us host successful events to spread the word about the Institute, our research and how to financially support our work. If any of these events interest you, or if your business is interested in sponsoring an event, contact the HudsonAlpha Foundation for more information.

Physicians for HudsonAlpha
ServisFirst Bank sponsored a reception for members of Physicians for HudsonAlpha at the Smith Family Clinic for Genomic Medicine. Physicians for HudsonAlpha is a partnership with local physicians to enhance communication and collaboration between the Institute and the North Alabama medical community. At the reception, Clinic Medical Director David Bick, MD, discussed the clinic and what it offers to patients and physicians, as well as his vision for the future of genomic medicine.

Planned Giving Seminar
Financial planner and philanthropic giving specialist Jessica Hovis Smith led a planned giving seminar on how to develop a personal philanthropic plan. Jessica shared tips on how to give more purposefully and effectively. Longview Financial Advisors sponsored this event.

Connections at the Church Street Wine Shop
HudsonAlpha Connections, a group of younger professionals and civic leaders in the community who help promote HudsonAlpha, set up a happy hour at The Church Street Wine Shop. Kevin Bowling, PhD, shared information about HudsonAlpha’s childhood genetics research at the event. The Church Street Wine Shop donated 10% of all wine sales, as well as proceeds from a raffle, to HudsonAlpha.
