HudsonAlpha Research Seminars hosted David Beier, MD, PhD, on Wednesday, October 25 in the HudsonAlpha Auditorium for a presentation.
Beier is a leader in vertebrate developmental genetics, Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington, and Director of the Center for Developmental Biology and Regenerative Medicine at the Seattle Children’s Research Institute. His research uses forward genetic approaches in mice and other model organisms to identify mutations that interfere with basic developmental processes related to human birth defects. He leads a number of initiatives in which genomic technology and innovative genetic analyses are made more accessible to the research community.
The next seminar will be Wednesday, November 9, featuring David C. Williams, Jr., MD, PhD. Williams is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
