CFDRC Announces ISO9001/AS9100 Certifications

Huntsville, Ala. September 16, 2016 – CFD Research Corporation is pleased to announce receipt of AS9100 Rev C Certification (AS9100C) of our Quality Management System for Aviation, Space and Defense for its Huntsville, Alabama location. An accredited third party registrar conducted the audit that measured CFDRC’s Quality Management System against the AS9100C quality management system requirements for Aviation, Aerospace and Defense organizations.

AS9100C requires an intense focus on quality and continuous improvement ultimately resulting in improved customer satisfaction. This standard is strongly supported and adhered to by major aerospace OEMs and is being required by vendors within the supply chain on an increasing basis. The standard includes all the requirements of ISO9001 along with additional aerospace requirements specific to the industry. Therefore, certification to the ISO9001:2008 standard is also included.

CFDRC’s path to become AS9100C certified was accelerated with the help of our DoD Mentor Protégé program agreement. Sponsored by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), our mentor corporation, Raytheon, provided invaluable assistance and guidance to upgrade our quality management system to meet the rigorous requirements of AS9100C certification. These efforts demonstrate a commitment to providing quality products and services to all current and future customers. To maintain our certification, CFDRC will perform audits to ensure compliance and to assess initiatives for continued improvement.

CFDRC’s President, LtG (RET) Joseph Cosumano, stated, “This is a major achievement for CFDRC. Our quality management systems are a top priority in our organization and the certifications demonstrate our commitment to quality operations. CFDRC employees continue to work hard to ensure excellence not only in our quality management system but throughout our entire operations.”
