Biotech 101, Registration Opens July 13 at 9am
HudsonAlpha’s popular seminar series Biotech 101 is an introduction to the field of biotechnology and the influence of genetics on human health and disease. Offered each fall over four weekly sessions, participants are taught DNA basics and the relevance of genetics and genomics in medicine, agriculture and the environment. Each session includes a primer on basic genetic concepts followed by examples of these concepts in a research and/or commercial setting and presented by HudsonAlpha scientists and educators.
All classes will be held from 6:30 to 8 pm.
HudsonAlpha Genomic Medicine Conference, August 8-10
The inaugural Genomic Medicine Conference will take place August 8-10, 2016 at HudsonAlpha. The conference is an interdisciplinary and international program focused on genomic medicine in a clinical setting. In addition to scientific educational tracks, the conference features two unique tracks aimed at adult adoptees and individuals with rare and undiagnosed diseases – and the opportunity to have their genomes sequenced.
Tie the Ribbons, September 22
Tie the Ribbons proceeds will benefit breast and ovarian cancer research within the Scientific Advancement Fund at HudsonAlpha. This year the event will be on September 22 at the Von Braun Center.
