Huntsville, Ala. — BioDynami, a biotechnology company established in late 2015, announced that it has opened an office at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. BioDynami provides innovative solutions for life science research and development, including reagents and services for next generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation and molecular cloning.
Cofounder and CEO Lisa Chen, MBA, is excited about the company’s relocation to HudsonAlpha as an associate company. “Given HudsonAlpha’s rapid growth, there are tremendous opportunities to collaborate with local biotechnology companies and biomedical investigators,” said Chen. “Huntsville’s sky is unlimited.”
BioDynami has already started to contact local businesses. “We started with local business, will expand to nationwide and will further expand internationally,” said Chen. “Our goal is to offer better solutions in the field to make R&D easier.”
One of BioDynami’s products is the NGS DNA Library Prep Kit. The company claims the kit is the fastest on the market so far. DNA libraries created with this kit will be ready in less than one hour, with only seven minutes of hands-on time.
BioDynami is expanding its unique technology to other applications, such as low input DNA library preparation, cfDNA library preparation and library preparation directly using intact genomic DNA. BioDynami also provides reagents for DNA cloning and PCR cloning.
The company’s chief technology officer, Jun Song, MD, PhD, has over twenty years of experience in the field of molecular biology, cell biology and virology. He is leading the company’s technology and product development.
“With both academic and industrial experience, it is normal for me to think on both sides: as a product user and as a product developer. Researchers want fast, simple and reliable reagents. This is the golden rule for me as a technology developer,” said Song. “All our products, including NGS library preparation kits and cloning kits, are developed based on this rule.”
